OK 1st up posted in general as it is not active yet still in the setup stage and sorry for the amazing long post.

Hey All

During my time here and talking to various people it has become apparent that most players TT various loot items for a quick Ped boost and following on from an idea on PCF I would like to propose this idea to help people out.

"RockTropia Trade Federation", a group of players who can buy loot from people for TT price and then resell for full MU when sufficient stacks of loot are available and then split profit between the sellers and share holders.

Looking at what happened on PCF there are some pro's and Con's and issues (And a few extra for RT)

Pros
* Players can sell there junk to us for TT and we horde until we have sufficient to resell

* Players selling to us don't lose anything but may gain extra % when the goods sell

* Helps the RT economy as most basic items will be available for crafters to buy.


Cons
* Lots of work and time needed to document who sold what

* with so much RT loot at the moment not used for anything its possible all peds get tied up

* A % of all the sales will have to be taken to cover in-game fees and payments (See below)

*****This is still in the idea stage so to try and organise we would need:*****

* Mainly a player able to dedicate allot of time to buying/selling and book keeping to keep track of all the transactions

* People willing to "Buy shares" in the venture and in return get a % return on each transaction

* Lots of trust between the person who acts as "Trader" and the people who purchase "Shares" (More below)

* Lack of players on RT who may invest?

So how will it work (The fun part)

* Any player can purchase shares in the venture at 500 ped Per share

* When 10k Peds are reached no more shares will be available

* all profits from the sales will have a 10% fee removed to split between shareholders (0.50% per share)

* Once per month (On set date) the trader will upload a statement will all purchases and sales. Then the Sellers are then able to claim there % back (Or given back if not on forum but seen ingame.

* If you wish to sell your share on you are free to do so just contact the trader

* If you wish to cancel you shares you must give 7 days notice and then you will get share value (500 Ped) and any Peds earned at the time the next monthly statement is produced.

Sub Issues
* The person who acts as the trader may not have collateral to cover the 10k Ped of shares so some in game trust may be required.

* Real Live contracts can be drafted if needed to cover share holder.

Final points

* This is just a idea at the moment to start helping all players from the guy who TT's 50 Pec of hides to the guy who TT's 50 Ped of Alt Ingot.

* The main trader will need to be chosen by the share holders

John, first of all, I think it's awesome that you and several of the other EU veterans are working so hard to support us poor newbies . This is an interesting idea, and I'd be very interested in selling to a "trader" if this plan becomes reality. However, I'm getting a little confused regarding the "share holders" and the 10k. Are the shares purchased to cover the in-game fees and payments? Is it necessary to actually have "share holders" for this plan to work? And how does the 10k work in all of this?

If you said that the "trader" and the "seller" would each share a % of the profit, I'd totally understand. But the "share holders" and 10k confuses me. Maybe it's just because I'm not familiar with the PCF idea that you mentioned.

Okay, never mind. The 10k is to supply the "trader" with the PED to purchase from "sellers". Gotcha.

Here's my concern. As a player with a much smaller budget to play with, when I need certain items to, say tier up one of my tools, I go to the Auctioneer. Typically, I want to find a small amount of items with a relatively fair MU so I'm not getting screwed over on the price because I can't afford to buy in bulk. Won't this plan kind of kill that?

Not really you can still use auction to buy and sell or buy from the person who is acting as the trader and pay weekly MU for example, if there are on items on auction on RT you would save transport fee

And yea the 10k is to fund the venture you would be surprised how quick Peds gets tied up in cheap/small stack loot hehe

Yep that's the key hehe

I would use this service and invest in it if i can raise the peds to do. John have you thought of being Trader? That is intill the investors can agree on a dealer on a more permanent basis. Everone already knows you and you know the score on rocktropia.

Also i hear your vtol looks a bit like this after the crashes.

So you want someone to focus on trading low MU stuffs with just 10k PED?!? That sounds rather low to me... especially when you consider the SLOOW economy on RT. Well gl with it those kind of services certainly got a future.
