This is my analysis of auction problem with Rocktropia. And what happend now can be dangerous for all of us.

Our RT citizens have difficulties to sell their loots and particulary ore and enmatters. So they put it at auction.
As you can see RT auctions offers lot of interesting ressources (pyrite, medical compress, ...), we are lucky to have high MU ressources.

The main problem is that currently the RT players are killing themselves. We put at auction high MU ressources at incredible low prices because not a lot of buyers, and this make the MU go down.
If we continue like this Pyrite will worth like Lysterium. Few weeks ago Pyrite MU was more than 200%, last week it was 190%, this week it is 184%. If you check auction you can see that it is possible to buy pyrite for 166% at auction on RT. I did not bought it to not make the price fall down but be sure someone will buy it.
We also have start bid for good ressources at 100%, as only 3 or 4 players bid on it the final price is very low. I was really surprised that i have bid on Gazzurdite for 103% and i have won the auction !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gazzurdite is not a problem because their is so big quantity sold every day, but for high MU ressources it creates the MU fall down.

If we continue like this we will kill MU prices for good ressources. I do not care for Calypso people, but our miners will have problems.
The bad consequences will be for miners and players, not for traders.

We really need, in my opinion, to take care about this problem. Auction can be dangerous for RT people as we destroy our own MU because not enough buyers on RT.

I talked fastly with Narfi but i did not explained him this problem yet. Some people would like that i start to buy ore/enmatter ressources because they think that if their is 2 buyers instead of one the prices will be better. The problem for the moment is not the price (when i see the price some people sell at auction i am sure it is not price question) the problem is to organise ourselves to be able to buy all ore/enmatter ressources produced by our colonists.

The other problem is that Narfi and me we do not have unlimited ped amount to buy ressources. I have more thant 10 K peds of items inside the shop to help people to get what they need, i can't deposit 20K more to be able to buy ressources to people.
And i think Narfi has the same problem.

I said to Narfi that i will start to buy ore/enmatter with him. Main problem is to define the MU, the MU can't be the same than on calypso, and it is very difficult to decide what to do.

The other solution is to create some kind of cooperative and to trust few people who will travel often to calypso and put in auction the ressources of all RT people. But instead of 7 days auction we will have 10 or 14 days.

In anycase i am sure that if we continue in the current way we will destroy little by little our good ressources MU.

Perhaps no-one will agree with this conclusion. I have spent hours and hours these last week watching auctions and i am quite sure of this.

Few days/weeks ago, I had this idea and forgot to post it on forum, so here we go:

Imagine when you click the auctionner, menu is poping. you select items you want to sell one after the other, but when you accept settings for each, they are not immediately in auction list, they are in a temporary box. When you've finished, you click on that temp box and choose from which auctionner you'll put your items for sale.
example: from city of dreams, i pack for 1k peds of various enmatter/ore to be sold from Calypso auctionners. I pay a fee worth max current tp fee, my itiems are sent as storage in an automated ship. Could even developp to get space men whose activity will be storage conveyor.
The market would be more accessible for both ways of auction transactions.

Ed Ward if i well understood this can be done only if MA change the auction system ? I think it will be very very long process, and we need to be carefull right now.

A good example of this is what happened to the markup of blood moss/medical compress on Next Island. I am not sure the best answer, but I think if Zal and I work together, we can help somewhat. We live on opposite sides of the world and have different playing times, which means there is a greater chance that you will be able to find one of us to trade with regardless of the time zone you play in. Zal and I are not in competition with each other, and while we are businessmen we are still trying to help the local community with our business and not taking advantage of you.

The main thing with our trading is that we need to make sure we don't operate at a loss, and hopefully are able to benefit somewhat for the investments we have made here in Rocktropia while still helping everyone out.

So I think Zals idea of the two of us buying resources for the same prices is a good idea. I will talk more with him in game and see if there is a way we can do this without putting so much time and energy into it that we cant actually do anything.

I have been buying some items (Oils etc) for MU -5% but my Ped card is not as big as some peoples and I have reserved Peds for when Shops/houses come online so I will buy when I can and then sell it on at the same price to one of the traders when I see them <Looks at Narfi>

frankly i dont know why we are using auction to begin with it does nothing but screw us up.

Ever really looked at how much auction fees we pay on stuff. Seriously Traders are the way to go most of the time.

In a perfect world. We would have traders buying stuff and shops set up like walmart with different shops for differnt types of items. If i had 1M PED i'd buy 4-5 shops and just buy everything and sell it in shops to make selling and buying a very easy process

their is hug quantity of pyrite here Doc, much more than on calypso in my opinion. People globe more often on calypso because of amps. you can even loot pyrite on zombie here (thats why i hunt zombie btw).
