Default Sweat - frustrating - lots of newbies get lost

Today was my first day at Entropia Universe at Planet Rocktopia.

I´m hanging in the Game for the last 18 hours :-) and I have talked to many peoples in the game - lots of them are newbies like me.
I´ve collect about 1500 Sweat all day long, done some missions, and run to some Teleporters.
At the evening i wanted to sell 1K of my Sweat - but the only answers I got was "keep the trash, nobody will buy them here".

Actually, is that what a game should be? In hundreds or thousands guides says - start with sweating, there are a lot players who needs the sweat.
You know, I would like to have fun with a game, and i would also like to make any payments to buy a gun and ammo - BUT - i´ll see if I like it.

So I thought I go sweating a week, run arround, sell my sweat and buy a cheap gun and ammo. but it looks like that is impossible, and thats not only my impression.
I heard it the whole day from other sweaters, and everyone says, he will not play any longer, because it makes no sense.

Its a really great game I guess, but it looks like, newbies are NOT welcome in the game. Otherwise some players would not act like the done to me the whole day.
Sorry that I have to say this, but if this continues, it will be very very hard to find new players to stay longer at this game.

Thats just my feelings after a long time at the game, hopefully I´m wrong, and some nice peoples are on some other places like I was today.

Lets see if I got some statements here, and maybe there is someone who want to buy some sweat

    Greetings, Candice

    Hi Candice.

First of all welcome to Rocktropia. The guildes about sweating is when sweating was used a lot for mindorce that was a type of fuel to power MF chips for healing, teleport, hunting etc. Then mindark stopped making these chips and brought out diffrent chips and veilcles. So the demand of sweat dropped there is still a use for it in certain blueprints, but at this moment is not worth your electric bill to sweat. The game is very diffcult for new players to try it now to see if they want deposit, but saying that there is a lot and i mean lot of new stuff that all planets now offer. Your best bet is try to swap your sweat for a lift to another planet do the free missions have look round, then do it again for all the planets and hopefuly you will decide that ROCKtropia is best for you.

alternatively go to the Hyperplex in New Harlem and experience Hunt the Thing, you can pick up some free gear on that mission also there are a few free items in the Starter area in new Harlem... keep trying to sell the Sweat. U may eventually find a buyer. We have added sweat to some of the Blueprint ingredients on ROCKtropia to help create demand... Of course there is always more we can do in that department... Good Luck on your adventures

If sweating is too much of a pain, you could always walk around looking for stones, fruit, and dung. There's also a beer garden that drops free beer kegs that you could pick up and TT, or try your luck with them at the auction - not sure if there's a blueprint for those yet. Also, as ND suggested, there's the hyperplex that gives some freebies, and there's an oil rig inside there that drops free oil.

You can play this game for free, it just takes a lot of time and patience. Sometimes the sweat sells pretty well, other times it doesn't. I've sold it at upwards to 10 ped per k, all the way down to 1.5 ped per k. You'll want to build rapport with other players, become involved in a soc, there are even some Mentors that may be able to pay for sweat. The general rule of thumb to keep in mind is if you don't have the money, than you better have the time. And if you don't have the time, than you better have the money.

There are 3 motorhead clothes bp that use the kegs now. Hopefuly more will drop, but i think the garden is over run with the new Royal Motorheads. The hyperlex is the best place for new players to start (i know players moan about the broken tps, but you get a free jeep and chopper). Thats more than we got when we started on the ROCK.

Hello and thanks for all your kind answers and Tipps, sounds great for me :-)

Also would like to say thanks to everyone writing me a private message ;-)

You know, this sounds a lot better than last night, because there is a response - last night at the game there was no response, yeah just one, and that was not that nice.
I know, everyone of you has spent less or more money at the game (my ex boyfriend hast spent thousand of $ to the game years ago at the time there was only calypso), and nothing in life is for free, but espacially the help beginners is very improtant I guess, to keep them in the game.
It doesn´t make sense to loose a hight percentage rate on players, only because they think nobody would care of the newbies.

I hope you understand my point of view, I´ll still play at Rocktopia, like that planet most :-)

click on the Box Office at the entrance. A map with all the teleporters listed that you have will appear....There is a drop down menu in the upper right corner with all the planets you can tp to... You need to choose THE THING there will be a blue dot on the map that is the base camp Cambell. Click that and then click the teleport button at bottom which is the big blue button....If you have any other problems you run into or need a guide, here is a lot of info the players have put together to help each other Hunt The THING - EntropiaPlanets Wiki - Information about Entropia Universe

The ticket box out front is a teleport, but you can use any teleport on the planet.
Activate the tp, then select Hunt The Thing from the drop down list.
Go to Camp Campbell and start the missions there.
