I have started a new blog (my first real one) and will keep it updated with the progress of Narfi my avatar as well as News from around the Universe (the threads from various forums that caught my eye) and information about the game that I think may be helpful to people.

I like the title of the blog!
Will have a look at it, might be interesting, though you might want to look into a slight redesign. At least consider softer colors for background and text...

Try also asked me to change the background, the bright light on the left was distracting.

I am not a visually artistic person, so I have a hard time with those aspects of tying colors and stuff together.
For now I changed the background to a pile of money which is more consistent but still seems too busy to me.

I would love recommendations on a background color/image, as well as what colors for the text/links and text box areas should be.

I know its a weak point so would appreciate any advice :P

Maybe instead of USD in the background you could have piles of ped/pec...

Nice write ups there, Narfi! For the background...don't use an image at all, just use a (dark-ish) background color. It's much better on the eyes while reading longer articles.

Make that grey a bit lighter for a better contrast to the text block of your site and you're there, Narfi. Can't wait to read more, I like your writing style!

Edited because I forgot: The text below the blog name and the date of the articles should be a lighter color too, both kinda fade into the black background. Maybe even the blue-ish color of the blog name. For websites, a general rule of thumb...not too many different fonts, font sizes and font colors...not too many different colors in the page design either.
