Pick Random 2 or 1 Newbie ones a week helping them with a starter kit (5-10 ped )maybee take them hunting it will give u a good connection Between them and u u need to focus on the new player

along with advertising your shops as mentioned already. You should also work out purchasing deals with the other players for inventory.
i.e. when I was mining on CND, I always sold to a specific buyer. She didn't always pay the best prices, but she bought everything I had. Now that I am on Rocktropia, if I had a guaranteed buyer, I'd happily sell it for a lower percentage.

It's just like in the real world with my company, I buy stuff from distributors, who buy from the manufacturer. The manufacturer also sells to the general public so they strike an agreement with the distributors that they will not sell to the public below a certain dollar amount. That way the distributor can safely sell to a retailer make a profit, and the retailer can sell to the public and make a profit. If the manufacturer decides to sell to the public, they don't drop below the retailers price, and make a big profit.

So to convert it to rocktropia terms, the hunters & Miners are the manufacturers. they sell to you the distributor. You mark it up and sell to the public or other manufacturers. And through agreements, if the hunters and miners want to sell to the general public, they don't go below your retial prices.

You could have everything run, so the pricing does not go above auction + transport fee, to keep people interested in buying.

The suggestions have made me think and come up with some ideas loosely based on them both.
One thing that has changed is that I don't have the shopkeeper I was borrowing anymore, so all transactions out of my apartment will have to be p2p.

Based on my idea I have purchased a second apartment on the same floor as my first, and will work at making it into a party room. I would like to get some screens with music videos etc.. on them set up, or maybe movies (I think someone was doing that, ill have to look into that) It may take me some time to make the time and implement anything coherent, but I really enjoyed you guys getting my thoughts rolling for out of the box ideas. Once it is setup I will have my 'Warehouse" in apartment 1, my Booth + shopkeeper at COD, and the party room in apartment #2.

Each will have a sign referencing the other 2, so it will be a 3way cross reference and hopefully draw more attention that way. (eventually I will add shopkeepers to the "warehouse" as I can afford. (unless Im able to buy an affordable shop, then plans will drastically change)


So for the 1st place prize, I can take you both on the hunt, or give you the peds as you desire, you both win

With 2x 1st place prizes given out, I'll only give out 2 runner up prizes.

If you are looking to spend less time trading and the hardship of saying "no or I can't offer better than...." or worse "yes" to deals not in your favor because of your amiable nature by all means do everything in your power to get a shop.

If you decide to go the sign to apt. route I would suggest approaching shop owners along that route about placing signs on their properties.

Since the latest VU, it seems that trading activity has become more decentralized. With all the shops and facilities, Tangerine should be able to pick up a
lot of traffic with some publicity. ( How many people know that there is an auctioneer there now?) Maybe merchants and shop owners could get together promoting some kind of event there? Also instead of set prizes, you could give the winners X ped worth of goods from a given shop?

It is always hard to choose winners for events like this since its all up to the discretion of the guy running it (me)
Hopefully everyone feels I chose fairly and no feelings were hurt since this was intended to be a fun free event
