Greetings Rocktropians!

I have to say that this Competition couldn't have come along at a better time for me personally. Having it fall on the July 4th weekend made everything just fall into place so nicely. I don't generally tend to be too openly competative but when I saw the first posting of this Hunting Competition and realized i'd be able to devote almost the entire weekend to participating my interest was peaked. And so, I set off on a grand adventure to see just how close I could get to reaching the 1st place slot.

The Motorheads of Rocktropia have been a staple hunting choice for me ever since I first arrived here a couple of months ago, so logic dictated I start things off by clearing out the road from the Stadium Parking Lot to White Line Depot. Most of the Motorheads were still pretty hungover from their partying the night before.... and weren't quite prepared when I came wandering down the Road.

It wasn't very long at all before I came across one who was stumbling quite badly and seemed to be having trouble bearing the weight of something he'd picked up the night before. I was more than happy to relieve him of his burden. ;-) MotorheadGlobal1.jpg

After this encouraging start I pressed forward down the road, tearing my way through dozens of Stumbling drunken Motorheads intent on clearing the way through to White Line.... after much effort (and downing a couple beers of my own along the way) I came upon one particular Motorhead that managed to spot me coming and tried to hide in the ditch beside the road. Alas for him, it did no good... I fried him to a crisp and claimed what he was guarding so furtively. MotorheadGlobal2.jpg

After making it the rest of the way to White Line Depot somewhat uneventfully I took a short break from my travels and considered where I should go next. Over the course of the next part of the day I ventured out hunting Wolves and Zombies and Werewolves far and wide across Rocktropia, always wondering if I could actually manage to come close to the higher slots in the competition, but mostly just enjoying the adventure of it all.

In time I decided i'd try my hand at hunting some Pop Dragons, I haven't really hunted any of the Rocktropia Dragons very much since my arrival since the first encounters i'd had with them ended rather poorly. But determined to give it good honest hard effort I gathered up the equipment I reasoned i'd need and headed out.

Not too long after exiting the cave behind Club Neverdie in City of Dreams and venturing headlong into the thick throng of Pop Dragons beyond I came across the first big success of the weekend. One particular Dragon seemed to be all too eager to dodge my Rifle blasts and after a tense fight I claimed the teasure it had been hoarding for who knows how long. DragonHoF1.jpg

With the sudden realization that i'd quite possibly just jumped into 3rd place in the Competition I drove forth amongst the Pop Dragons with renewed hope and a sense of achievement that outwieghed any hardships I might face along the rest of the road ahead. Before much longer I took down yet another Pop Dragon that had been hoarding loot more useful in the hands of the Pioneers of this new frontier than the claws of a giant purple beast. Weary from the days events I decided to take a break for awhile and rest. It felt well deserved and also left me chomping at the bit to get back out there and see what else might lay hidden amongst the mass of Dragons near City of Dreams.

After resting up and refitting my gear I woke early so as to get a firm start on the next leg of my travels. Once again I stepped forth through the cave behind Club Neverdie and out into the teeming masses of Dragons beyond.... I hadn't gone more than 150 Meters from the mouth of the cave before I was jumped by a Dragon that seemed dead set on turning me into its next meal. Another hard fought battle, another victory and yet again a hoarde of treasure I was never really expecting i'd claim... this one very firmly placing me in the rank of 3rd for the competition. It was at this point that I realized just how far i'd come so far, and how much more lay before me if I chose to keep pressing forward..... and onward I pressed....

As the hours of the day wore on I pitted myself against wave upon wave of scaley purple behemoths...... fighting hard and laying claim to much loot that the pioneers of Rocktropia would need in the struggles ahead to tame this planet and carve out a prosperous existence for themselves. At this point i'd like to digress slightly and admit that i've noticed the old tendency I have of being longwinded and verbose rearing its head again. And so, for the benifit of those who just want pure inspiration without the time consuming tales of a veteran expeditionist attached... here are some highlights of the continuing journey I found myself on.

While I originally hoped to wrap all this up in just one post.... theres just too much tale to tell in one short burst.... so please stay tuned for the conclusion of this grand adventure.........

And now.... as we come nearer to the end of this long journey... I began to reflect on what it all meant. To me, it was never about the Ped, it was never about finding some Uber Item I could hold aloft and proclaim "Yeah thats right, its MINE, hands off!" No, for me this entire weekend has been about just exactly what Entropia has always been about for me.....

Adventure, achievement, self developement and fullfillment..... and realizing a dream I had as a kid that one day I might be able to actually take an active role in helping to redefine what it means to be humans. We stumble around trying to find things that we know we want, without ever really knowing what those things are until we're finally face to face with them. Well, this is me coming face to face with those unknown things that draw me forward through my life.... and this has been happening to me constantly in many different shapes and forms ever since I first stepped off the dropship on Calypso all those long years ago.... just take a minute and let that sink in. ;-)

As we finally come to the end (?) of this long journey i'd like to make a special point of mentioning that I also found the time to participate in two great Events this past weekend.... the Zombathon Event and the Rocktrozombie Event. Sadly I didn't manage to salvage a screeny from the Zombathon, but it was a great time and helped spur me forward on my quest while providing a bit of relief and relaxation from the stresses of the road.

At one point while resting up and restocking on ammo at City of Dreams I happened to bump into Cyance and he told me about the Rocktrozombie Event he was hosting. Thankfully I did manage to get a really nice screeny after this event was over (and after my inventory lag finally cleared up, LoL, sorry again about the wait guys ;-p) so now as I finish off this string of posts heres a look at Amber, Aia, Cyance and Myself at B.A.M.F HQ after the event.

In conclusion (yes finally) i'd like to say that I really do hope this can serve as a small piece of inspiration to all the Newcomers on Rocktropia right now. I may not have managed to win 1st place in this Competition.... but its been one hell of a ride along the way, and a most enriching experience for me. All of you can find the same kinds of experiences out there..... as long as you're willing to follow that itch in your feet thats telling you to "go see whats over that next hillside".
