MA always puts ammo in the loot pool, even if the person you killed has no loot on them. Search EF and youll find the relevant threads where this is stated as a Fact.

What was their hp level when you started shooting at them? I think you only get loot if you do 50%+ of the damage it takes to kill them. For example a trick miners/hunters use on calypso is to attack mobs when they are in pvp to get their health down, then do their business till they are close to 50% again, then attack another mob to get their hp low again. This allows them to hunt or mine in relative safety knowing that even if a PKer kills them they wont loose their loot.
The so-and-so killed so-and-so with a-bad-ass-gun message just goes to the killing shot, so thats not really a good indicator of if you did the most dmg to them or not.
I haven't done any pking so I may be wrong, but this is how I understand it, atleast thats how it seemed to work on calypso.
I am also curious, do you need a toxic shot for pvp here? and which areas exactly are lootable?
I thought id been killed since my last shot so assumed I wouldn't be able to enter any lootable pvp areas here, but I have gotten the message a couple of times, so maybe my shot is still good, im not sure. Any info on that would be appreciated.
thanks,

Was just thinking some more... Its possible that ma has "no loots" for pking where you dont get an ammo reward, just the victims stackables, just like there are "no loot" mobs.
just another idea,

Yes a toxic shot is required for all the lootable zones i know about up here. I see what you mean about the hp, but the ava's in question had their full hp when i PK'ed them.

Guess this Perception gain on this kill would have paid off if there was another GD in view lol.
