The community came together for the monthly "Make IT Happen" Dance Contest for the 3rd time ... and as they say ... 3rd time's a charm!!
Part of the charm and success of MIH-3 was due in large part to community member "RaveTrax" ... also affectionately known as "Rava" who DJ'd a live session of electronica dance music for the contest through his own radio broadcast website ... www.ravetrax.com.
Not only was the music rockin' ... but Rava surprised us all with a few radio commercials. The excitement in his voice, not only about the dance contest that was going on, but the plug about Club NEVERDIE as THE place to be was exhilarating. He mentioned that the dance contest was a monthly event, and if anyone in the listening audience was unfamiliar with Project-Entropia, they should check it out. He even broke in and announced the winners of the dance contest during the live broadcast.
Now how much cooler can you get than THAT. Rava, you did us proud my friend, and we are very pleased that you are a part of our community. Our gratitude goes out to you for helping to make this dance contest the best yet. We are looking forward to many more.
Now on to the picture storyline ...
One of the rituals prior to the start of the dance contest is yours truly getting up on the disco ball platform and shaking her booty a few times to get the crowd movin' and groovin' and in the mood. Dancin' Diva that I am, I have to grab my moments when I can since I'm a judge in these contests and don't get to dance. I see you dancin' up there on that railing Creature! Shake your groove thing, shake your groove thing, ya ya!!
The dance floor was filled with those who wanted to just party, as well as those who intended to be contestants. When it came time for the contest to officially start, we asked all those who weren't contestants to leave the dance floor, but there was a challenge getting Moonie (Blood Moon) off the floor since he's such a Dancin' Dude himself. He's the one in the gray behind and to the left of the disco ball platform ... "move it Moonie, we need to get this contest STARTED up in here" ...
I took my usual position at the top of the staircase to view the contestants while they danced. Seeker took up his position on the railing by the jukebox, and after Moonie finally left the dance floor he jumped up on the other railing for a birdseye view of the dancers. Oh, and btw ... that hot pink dude standing next to me on the staircase is Freyr from Swan Travel. He doesn't know I noticed that he switched back and forth from his hot yellow to his hot pink outfits. My peripheral vision was workin' JUST fine Honey!
Another ritual that is customary with the dance contest is that Moonie will shoot off fireworks when the contest officially starts. This time was no exception.
Seeker, Moonie, and I were teamed in order to discuss the elimination process, and one by one, contestants were asked to leave the dance floor. The method was a little different this time, as Seeker, in his Nemesis armor, actually went out onto the dance floor and walked up to the next contestant who was eliminated and asked them in all chat to leave.
At one point he got creative and would do a little run around to not give away what direction he was going. Also, as some took their good ol' nature time about leaving the dance floor, Seeker took out his whip and got a little more intimidating ... LOL. Seeker, you continue to surprise me Honey.
As each contestant left the dance floor, they would stand on the upper level behind me and around the dance area to watch the remaining dancers work their moves.
It wasn't long before there were only a handful left. As Seeker turned to exit the dance floor after delivering the unwanted news to Slick (hope you still luv us Sweetie), Jaba looked like he was gettin' down with his OWN whip. I do believe the music put some people into a total zone.
And then there were 3 to battle it out for 1st place. We gave them a little time to shift into high gear and show us what they got. All three remaining contestants were truly the best in the competition this time.
And why? ... bcuz it's not enough to just use the regular dance moves that PE gives us ... each contestant must be unique, and use a combination of moves that are in time with the beat of the music. Before each contest, I give examples from my own choreographed moves that make MY dancing unique.
The winners from the previous dance contest set the bar high, so we had hopeful expectations that there would be some people within the community who "got busy" and did a little practicing of their own. We weren't disappointed, and the bar has yet again been set even higher. The top 3 contestants from "Make IT Happen 3" were on their game, and showed us exactly how it's done.
So without making you wait any longer ... the winners are:
1ST PLACE ... "SCUBA" - PE.DOMINATORS
250 PED, including 30 PED Certificate from Epic Outfitters
All I can say is ... pray he doesn't show up
at the next dance contest.
2ND PLACE ... "WILDMAN" - BURR BERRY WARRIORS
200 PED, plus roundtrip (CND/Calypso) - Freyr/Swan Travel
He started off slow, but OMG ... he shifted gears
and it was all uphill from there - incredible job!
3RD PLACE ... "ASTI" - SCORPIO
80 PED
Yes, our 1st Place winner from the
previous dance contest gave it another go.
Glad you came to show us again how it's done!
Excellent job Asti, you're a real pro for sure!!
After the winners were announced, they did a little celebratory dance for us, and Asti even stripped down a little, probably from getting all heated up during the dance-off.
As always, the judges got together with the winners at the end of the dance contest for the official photo. From left to right is:
Seeker ... (Founder, Master of Ceremonies, Judge)
Asti ... (3rd Place Winner)
Scuba ... (1st Place Winner)
MindStar9 ... (Judge)
Blood Moon aka "Moonie" ... (Judge, Pyromaniac)
Wildman ... (2nd Place Winner)
When the dance contest was officially over, we moved the "After Party" to a more private location and OMG ... you will have to wait till sometime on Sunday to read about that in picture storyline, bcuz it is just one of those stories you will NOT want to miss. Remember how I always say that it's the spontaneous moments that turn into the most fun? Well this is one time that some totally unexpected things happened that just made it worth every moment.
Thanks again to RaveTrax (Rava) for providing the awesome live radio broadcast, and the plugs for the monthly dance contest, Club NEVERDIE, and PE in general. You ROCK!!! It's just that simple!
Thank you also to Rava and Moonie for allowing me to add a few of their pics into this storyline to help bring the activities to the community. Being stationary as a judge limited me in getting different views, so their contributions are greatly appreciated. To see all of the pics taken by "Rava" you can go to his website at this link and enjoy cruising: http://public.ravetrax.com/cnd/2006.3_dance_comp/
Hugs again to you Seeker, for your hard work in soliciting donations for prizes. Besides the PED, we truly had some unique ones this time, like a 30 PED gift certificate from Epic Outfitters, and radio commercials offered by Rava and RaveTrax.
Can this get any BETTER? ... sure it can, and that's why you should stay tuned and watch for the announcement of the next "Make IT Happen" Dance Contest in April. Let's work toward making it even better, and upping the ante with greater prizes. If you're interested in donating to the next dance contest, you can contact either Seeker, Moonie, or myself. All donations will be passed on to Seeker.
In the meantime ... get out there and practice your moves, then come and show us whatcha got!!
" CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS "
YOUR REWARDS WERE WELL DESERVED!!
