mining with amp on CND
Hi folks,
many ppl asked me: Hey, whats your secret? You are getting that much globals ...
Well, there is no big secret, but I can give some tipps:
If you see 2 globals from me a day, I am not using any amps. I just drop like 500-1000 bombs. If you drop that amount of bombs (and you have a bit luck of course), its normal that you get at least 1 or 2 globals. After each 2000 bombs in average - if you have enough luck - you get a HOF entry.
You find - in average - a deposit after 20 drops. Sometimes 10 drops, sometimes even 100 drops. But in average its like 20-25.
So, if you dont get a hit within 20-25 drops in a dome, change it! Probably a miner run the same way before and its empty at the moment. Of course it can happen that you get 3-5 empty domes in a row.
If you find deposits after 10 drops, the dome is filled. Then its time to try your amp luck. So, if you are sure that the dome is filled, use the amp.
I am using 103 amps mostly. You have 56 clicks on it. The costs are like 160-170 peds / amp, total costs are like 220 peds. So you need 3 globals (60-80 ped) within 56 clicks to reach the break even.
But in average you can be happy if you find 1 global with 1 amp. Mostly you return like 50% of the costs. If you find rare ore you can profit with 2 globals.
If you find nothing with 1 amp, dont use another one in the same dome!
If you see a claim which is not mined, bomb it. It happens often that the spot is filled again.
Some common mistake: People believes that a dome is empty if someone find a HOF in it. The opposite is true, the dome is filled. (Except a miner did a carpet bomb before).
Carpet Bombing: Don't carpet bomb with amps, very risky!
Mining along the borders: A lot of HOFs are found along the borders. But everybody is mining there. So the chance is very high that you find nothing because a miner went the same way 5 min ago.
If you see 3 or more green spots in a dome, change it.
If you meet another miner ask him if he mined the area already.
Ore respawning: Sometimes a dome is filled within 10 mins. again, sometimes it needs hours. Totally random.
Summary: Only use amps if you are aware that you are loosing money - probably. I am using amps because its fun and I want hit the big one. But most of the time I waste money.
Any other tips are welcome!

Ooh, well in that case here is one more tip:
Make sure you have a nice Good Luck Mining Outfit ... mining is hard work and can work up a sweat, so it's probably best to keep the layers to a minimum.
I'm not so certain it will bring good luck, but it will surely keep one's mining companions happy.
LOL

Thanks for taking the time out of your mining runs to give everone some great tips Claude. Now MA just needs to give us an Invisible Coat so that we can run in the middle of the Daspletor's to get those deposits, ha, ha. :P Thanks again for your contribution to the CND Family..

How can we be sure that the amps are actually increasing the deposits though?
Who's to say that 800ped lyst would still have shown up as 800ped with the amp.
Just a thought that has been bothering me.

It is actually very easy. take the following for instance:
1) I normally do a 250 bomb mining run on CND. When I run without an amp I normally find X-XII deposits (size).
2) I normally do a 112 bomb mining run with OA-103. When I run with the amp I normally find XIII-XV deposits (size).
The normalcy with which this occurs absolutely rules out that it is an accident. The normalcy with which my friends do the same also rules out the fact that this is a coincidence.
Thanks for the great info stepp.
