Thought we should give some ideas how to get the events going

Maby win real items, like:

T-shirts, posters, cd's, dvd's.

Maby 10 free flights up/down...

VIP Access?

Skills? good for noobs ...

1 hour hunt with ND in a dome...

Free ad space ingame/rp.com

what do i know?

ideas? =)

Ive got an idea - send me a shirt and ill take a picture of me wearing it to the pub lol

T-shirt prizes are definately a good idea and maybe....wait.....excellent idea.....

We've already done some of these things Hon, and are currently giving away IRL items from Apple with the 30GB video iPod and iPod Nano. Also ... we're planning a "membership revival" of sorts that will include ways to win prizes like CDs/DVDs, and other things.

Additionally, the monthly MIH dance contests receive great donations from individuals such as radio air commercials from RaveTrax, gift certificates from the shopping mall, and a host of other items that are added to the prizes that go to the top 3 winners.

What we try to do in the process of coordinating events ... especially the media events ... is add something special into the mix, so some of the things that you've mentioned can certainly be looked at with regard to considering them as prizes for sure.

Perhaps a "private VIP party" for you and a few close friends ... if that's a possibility given the limitation of the FL feature ... or T-shirts when they're available. We can also think in terms of some of the other things you mentioned, like ad space, so all ideas are welcome for sure.

I can tell you that with regard to "events" ... there will be plenty more coming with the advent of the ingame sound system and live streaming celebrity DJ's and potential music groups, so except for the player-generated smaller scale events, we can all fasten our seatbelts for some major happenings to occur at CND in the near future.

Let's hear everyone's idea as to what kind of prizes they would like to see with future contests that are usually incorporated with major events. Everyone likes getting the PEDs, but maybe there are other things that ppl would be interested in as well.

Our goal is not only to provide an exciting playground of possibility, but also reward you for being the awesome community that you are, so throw your ideas into the mix.

I think Fliss and I could probably accommodate this request ... however, is an hour all you're good for?

If anyone is going to throw a T-Shirt his way as long as he wears it to the pub... make it REALLY small and preferrably a crop top :P

Seriously though, I think T-shirts and items such as this are a great way to promote CND Especially if the shirts are cool and interesting...What beter way to get a walking billboard

I think all the contests such as the ones currently happening and the dance contests etc are a great way to promote CND what other game can you effectively log in for free dance around a bit for a chance to win $50 :P

In short. T-shirts all the way but CD's and other RL items are great too :P

Ahhhhh ... you didn't mention that little detail ... got it now Hon. Well, ND has given the "weekend events" a shot with a different event on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but the turnout was very low, so maybe if we add prizes like the T-shirts, which really ARE a nice walking advertisement, and perhaps CDs/DVDs and the like, we might have a larger draw.

However ... we have to look at another aspect of this ... at the moment, ND is the only one who is operating the event system bcuz we can't have everyone locking up multiple domes for long periods of time ... that would defeat the purpose of generating revenue, not to mention frustrate a lot of ppl who couldn't get into the domes to do their hunting/mining ... especially when there are monthly draws going on that have been giving out great IRL prizes.

But let's go back to the drawing board with this one, and then see if we could come up with something different that ND could set up with these weekend events that would create a larger draw.

Good input everyone, keep it going ... we want to provide a happening place where ppl can have fun, as well as an opportunity to win cool prizes.

As for the date .. wow .. I'm flattered. But you'd just stand me up anyway, since that's usually how you work. :P

I agree with MS9 .. an hour might not be enough, but if we give it our all, we could probably wear you out by then. lol

I had to laugh when I read Dannei's post. I don't know about MS9, but I'm enjoying a "day of rest" -- never thought this party girl would get to that point, but I have for just this one day. And then there's Dannei, already itching for the next event.

The big prizes are great ... but really, the best response I've seen from people I've talked to has been giving them a free ride to CND (preferably and back). 40 ped is a lot for many people, and to think of spending that for a party blows their mind. Maybe set times on the free flights so they are up there for a couple of days, not just coming back and forth quickly for the party -- that would not only space out the flights for our dear pilots, but would also give them a chance to look around.

I love the ideas for non-traditional prizes such as the private VIP party, private hunt with ND, etc. Activity-based prizes that also encourage them to stay on CND longer than just for the party.

Ooh, and the CND Playmate calendar can be a prize once we get to that point (Asti and I are still bouncing ideas around).

It would be cool if we could get some unique in-game items -- t-shirts with CND logo on it like how vexed has done with their clothes -- Wall art club-related, mini-naked-statue replicas, etc. Things that would be only available as prizes, etc. Yes, okay, so I dream big. lol

Other things: The idea of being on US television seemed to work really well to get people there on Wednesday, and people obviously were not focussed on the prizes since barely anyone even dressed up for silly ... so what about other special opportunities that could be arranged and promoted:
- tv opportunities
- celebrity guests
- live performances (once the audio is streaming in the club, etc.)

That's all I've got for now.

Now send C that shirt, already!

If any of those statues come in the form of any of the CND hotties I need an order of those for my apartment ASAP.

Like the trip to and back CND idea...alot of people would like to go planetside for a small vacation then come back without burning a hole in the ped card...perhaps some nice furniture sets for people's apartments (like a table and chairs, or a nice sofa) Or for those who don't they can get a nice armor-weapon combo package.

All else fails, give 'em probes and TP them to dome 16
