Discussions with Rob, Stoffer, Creature and others have prompted this post.

What I would like to do is start a discussion here of getting a core group of mentors together for the people that spawn at CND. ND did ask me to help any I could and many have called me the "Official Mentor of CND".

While I wish I could call myself that, I cannot...as I cannot do this alone!!! I need help, and many people have offered it and showed great interest in this idea of setting up a comittee of people.

So, those interested in becoming part of this crew, post up here and lets discuss some basic guidelines and rules, etc!

Saw you speaking to my bro about this one and its a gr8 idea. with me i will bring along a couple of pieces of pixie etc to try and help out some of the disciples that i will inevitably take

these of course will not be free but can be offered as rewards etc when the disciple reaches a certain level or passes some kind of test maybe? :P just add a bit more fun.

In our society (Gaming University of Calypso) we actively tried to help out newbs but have now set up a sister soc called the Gaming School of Calypso which now takes all of the disciples into it. this has grown quite a lot recently and i must say the current leader (Tangine Garb Garbender) has been doing a gr8 job.

I will try and get him up here a little more and ask if he could help. he is a true mentor and a gr8 one at that and would help out immensely here. Just need to make sure that he would be free for this to as his other commitments atm are HUGE :P

But yep, sign me up and i'll help out as much as possible bud.

I like the idea of a test....I had in my mind the first goal being 2k sweat bottles. At that point, they would get a set of armor and a newbie weapon of choice...from that point forward it would be up to them to decide if they want to deposit and keep going with the game.

Is sweat about 1 pec a bottle now? if it is we could maybe buy it off the newbs and swap for the items you suggested? maybe give them 15 ped and the armour or something?

gr8 idea though, should we start a standard place to find us or something. main complex north as a hang out maybe? :P this way we can see them as soon as they spawn :P

Good idea bud! Count me in. I have had two disciples graduate now and I can take on some more. I can show them the ropes and I am all about the Work for Rewards system.

I usally offer 1.2 per bottle, since the price fluctuates on Calypso so much.

Main Complex North seems to be the logical place to me...a lot of us tend to hang out there anyway

i dont mind, like i said i'll help out as much as possible, maybe we should sort out an armour pool or something to get everyone going say have enough for 1 set per mentor, to start with or we could all just go it alone and provide for our own disciples? up to you guys.

Great thread. I will try to be friendly and helpful as well,we need a big successful community!

Maybe we can make a mentor thread. In the thread we can have a list of mentors available at CND. Then each mentor can post a description of their times available, a little about themselves and what they have to offer as well as what they expect. This way, when a noob comes to CND, someone can refer them to the mentor thread if they wish to have one. The disciple can then pick which one he wants and PM that menotr so they can meet up in game.

Once again, just an idea.

have another thread (sticky?) which has all our info etc. v good. i like how things move fast here :P really good to see other ppl in this community that are soo helpfull, with ppl like you and the other members of this forum iim sure the community will grow and thrive up here :P

maybe we could have some suggestions of things to do to be able to teach a newb things up at CND? and possible events to get the armours etc ? :P

i'll start..... seen as there isn't the possibilty of a TP run really, maybe get the newb to go on a small treasure hunt to find there way around the resort. i think this may of been suggested before but maybe all of the mentors get together as an aid post for the event and we could be scattered around the resort and act as check points?

could be a good way to get them on the move and see the whole of CND :P maybe have it as a CND newb event once a month for the disciples up here?
