CND Newbie Welcoming Crew - Page 2

Hey Rip,

I already posted a thread for something in regards to a newbie event but I don't have much support for it yet. Only a few have thought the idea was good. But I am willing to do as much as I can afford to help out in the events area for noobs. I have done a few treasure hunts down on Calypso and I think I can manage one up here. Maybe spread small low value items around the resort and the one to find the most and bring it back to us is the winner and then we can have runner up prizes too. When I did it with my society, we had a grand prize of a noob starter kit (fap-5, full pixie, 1k in ammo, opalo), and then we gave out a few small items to the runner ups. I can work more with you in this area tomorrow once I get back to my regular computer.

Also, maybe we can talk CPH into making a section just for mentors and then we can post thread in there.

Id love to work something out with ya m8. i aint on my normal comp either (which is why i aint been on PE much and have trolled the forums lol)

Ok I am still at CND but am gonna try and find a flight up tonight, see if I can make any of these events

But apart from that I have stopped taking on Disciples on Calypso, whilst down here I have been doing constant TP runs and Bubbles, with 'Help and Info' Threwn in for free at PA, but living on CND I dont think its fair for me to take on many n00bs as a mentor if I cant help them out, when they need it.

SO a definate yes from me

I know we cant do TP runs up here but I am more then willing to help with talks.

Also I want to get my website up and running this year with lots of info and guides and tips all in one place, (very much like the forums with all work in one place) and I want to include a CND guides places to go to, Apartments, shops, Shiny Disco Balls

, Im sure you get the idea, with lots of pics I want to make it a fun place to go to learn about PE and at the same time make it look profesional.

So if any off you want to help me out on it

, from writing articles, taking pics, anything you think could be helpfull let me know.

I wanted to try and do this myself, as its also good practise for my web design skills, and as a very n00b coder its all experience but this Msc course is not a walk in the park and I am finding it hard to juggle everything at once. (It will probably get done but at a very slow rate

)

I also think now because the revival terminals in the control room now work on both sides, we could maybe put together the locations of the domes to in respect to the map :P

Finally a bit of time so i'll respond with more detail.

I think that all the ideas voiced so far are awesome.The (sticky) mentor thread being the best tool to help the new guys out.Slick I'm not sure how many ppl you would be looking for but i think we would need to find out time zones the mentors/helpers are in to ensure we don't have black spot for extended period.so far from what i can see there are people offering to help from USA,England and Australia.

For the thread if it gets the go ahead,apart from the list of mentors and the welcoming crew moto/goals

A list of noob friendly domes for various professions i.e mining,sweating,hunting etc
A list of known and trusted pilots.

Let me know if the armoury idea is confirmed as well,i currently have 15-18 pix/gob peices i'll hold on to until it's sorted

I think the armoury idea is a gr8 one.

it would definately help out the newbs when they have passed some goals

I know when i started i had a full set of goblin for ages :P and i got it from my mentor, not given to me but he helped me get it by searching all the normal places for it. and help like that is definately something you remember

I think from the players that i have spoke to that have Spawned at CND i have gathered there is something that i regard as apretty big problem.......

THEY HAVE NO TP ON EUDORIA - this has come up twice and i thought maybe it could have been an error however i did have a post about it before but forgot to post it. Fair enough If they get a flight from someone whos hanger is on Eudoria then they are on the continent but as it is, like when we start at calypso the only tp they have is on TI so if they land there they are only able to go to Amethera - which as youll know isnt the ideal place for Noobs especially as they will miss out on alot of the things that make this game great.

I hereby cant give flights to Noobs in this current state as it wouldnt be fair for them but would gladly help out getting one to Eudoria - if and when they decide to commute

Been doing alittle more thinking to do with the sticky idea....

ND could start with a welcome note to all new spawners and introduce the chosen helpers, it would look better that way to new ppl ,seeing that ND himself has is approval attached.We are all to aware of the potential abuse that can happen with the less informed Avi,we want to show that we're for the growth community and not our ped cards (though im still waiting for my 1st CND global)

I personaly would think hard b4 i put EF on there....the only reason being that since i joined in dec/jan the whining and bad vibes going around atm is growing by the minute,apart from that the info provided by the community can even help the most Uber!!

Last idea for the night......a kickarse advert on the screens would rock....possibly a piccy of the crew with ND,better still as many of the community we could muster to show how many freinds and good times there are to have up here!!!

um ok the spelling sucks - LOL, I've been told by soc mates that it's because Im Australia....ROFL maybe,maybe but im havin fun

im all for this anyway and it sounds like it could prove quite helpfull to the newbs that spawn so

to all involved and speak to ya soon. maybe have a chat in game when possible or just keep on posting here so we can all eventually read them :P
