It is with great happiness and almost ridiculous joy that I accept the nomination of "Master Smiley Adder" bestowed upon me by CPH. I do not take this job lightly, and I will work day and night, in rain and in snow, to deliver the finest smileys to you, the RealityPort community.

With this in mind I present…

The Club Neverdie Smiley Adders Association

While smileys will be available to everyone on the open market, it will be necessary to submit your smiley for approval to me, the Master Smiley Adder, in order to have it added to the system. I will strive to maintain a good variety of professional smileys, for all seasons , moods and levels of sobriety.


However, I must caution you. If you expect any chance of having your smiley accepted you must send a detailed proposal to me in Microsoft Word format.

I will soon be posting the first round of Association-Approved Smileys so please focus on this to the exclusion of everything else in your hectic life.

Now the official Smiley Association of the "2006 Winter Olympics" in Turin, Italy

Dear members of the community, if I may take a small respite from the back-breaking duty of running the Smiley Adders Association, I would like to present the following.

A Brief History of the Smiley

1963 – Artist Harvey Ball creates a yellow button with two dots representing eyes and a line for a smile. The world is never the same again.

1972 – The program called "PLATO IV" allows users to stack text characters on top of each other and create face-like patterns. Finally laughter has been brought to the computer world.

1979 – Kevin Mackenzie proposes that the symbol "-)" should represent tongue-in-cheek humor. This blows the collective mind of everyone.

1982 – Scott E. Fahlman suggests the more advanced symbol ":-)" be used by the Carnegie Mellon University chat board. He also revolutionizes the universe by suggesting ":-(" to represent sadness. Mountains tremble.

2006 – Super forum god CPH appoints Epictetus Epic Ahab as "Master Smiley Adder" for the RealityPort forums. The rest is smiley history.

This is WAY exciting ... HALLELUJAH ... our own "Smiley Adders Association" ... GRATZ again my friend ... you're a perfect choice to head this up for sure.

I know we're all looking forward to the day that your smileys translate into clickable addies in our posts ... and with up to 12 possible smileys in each POST ... WhooHoo ... bring it ON!!!
