I noticed in an earlyer thread that reality port now has a download option to dowload eve, and the beginners will spawn in the main area.

I just met one of those beginners. Ill give u some feedback on how i helped and my opinion abouth the Noob cnd spawn.

Naturaly totaly bewildered this guy ran true the shopping area, no clue what a tp is, seeing shops and shops, a big place with virtualy no ppl. and no clue what to do.

I ran into him, he asked for help, i gave him a tour, biodromes, disco, than decided to do some sweating.

The dromes with low lvl creatures were assigned as event area's. Basicaly no place to sweat without being killed in one big blow, by a creature for this guy.

he cant make peds, cant hunt, cant sweat, just walk around.

after a bit of time, Junior, Snigerthy dog ( if thats spelled correct) and me donated the 20 peds for him to fly down.

conclusion: the marketing potential of realityport its huuge it helps ppl to get in the game. It is however in my opinion a historicaly bad idea to spawn those ppl in CND, as it will almost certainly push ppl to leave EU.

why did u rush to fly him down instead of tell him that the event would soon be over and he could hunt in dome 3?


however the gesture was nice. And agreed, without a lot more signage in the main complex, it is very confusing for noobs to spawn there.

I think I will email MA and ask them to spawn noobs in the control toom for now until CND gets sorted better.

Yea, I think putting them in the control room is a good idea. At this time it is going to be, imo, quite difficult for a brand new player to the game to grow their avatars. That is mainly because there isnt enough newbs to go sweating productivly.

Maybe never have an event in dome 3? Consider it so important that noobs must have access?

I agree about the control room...that's the best place to ask questions and buy low level starter gear.

What MA needs to do is implement shopping booths like they said they would, put some in the control room, give me a deed, and I'll put A103's and pixie armor in there every day. Instant noob help.

Can you possibly ask if you can have the streaming music in the appartments and control room as well please its a bit dull when you get killed in a dome and miss your favorite tunes

I agree with Golun.
Another problem though that nobody sees is that MA are killing off sweating in areas slowly.

They are making it harder to sweat in areas and dome 3 is not easy.
There are only good places on calypso to sweat if you cannot sweat at least an atrox young in dome 4.

I m changing my own opinion on the threat I started myself.
Namely, I suggested that spawning beginners in CND was a historical bad idea. A few comments and thoughts later I can honestly say that I was wrong stating that.

The marketing of Realityport and Neverdie really works, otherwise this guy, and many others, wouldn’t have arrived in CND at the first place. As a matter of fact I feel that the marketing done by Neverdie is better, reaches a bigger audience, than the overall MA marketing and communication.

Big fat compliment to Neverdie, he is also working to the benefit of EU in general, knowing that noobs will one day become ubers and play in CND.

Many others have narrower visions and views.

Sure I did help the bloke, felt responsible for yet another successful introduction of a beginner in EU. The outset and motivation for this forum entry wasn’t right though.

Giving beginners good action to start with is important. First impressions do count!!. The waiting for the event in drome 3 took a bit of time. I towed this guy around for 2 hours up to a point I simply could not delay sending him down.

It was fun to help him, a smart Asian bloke learning xl fast. Yet it left me a bit frustrated. After that guy went to calypso my initial thoughts were that it’s a bad idea to spawn beginners at CND, as there is no real support here and the CND set-up is less geared for beginners.

I made two mistakes in that thought: 1: we, the game community are the main source of support. And 2: we can ask MA for better means of in game support for the players. Accepting the mild verbal bite from Neverdie I now state:

I would like to see the beginner spawn in the control room.
And one day those ppl do have to go down as well. Could there be one free teleport ride down to PA too, as noobs usually don’t have cash to fly back?

Now I’m going to hoist my pants back up and shoot somebody.

the discussion was not at all abouth being agry for beginners landing at cnd, but abouth giving them enough support at CND so they can make a succesfull start.
