We want to create a new "monthly draw event" that would be fun for the community. We made an attempt with the "Shop Owners / Patrons" monthly draw event, but the community came up with some very valid reasons why it may not work efficiently.

Therefore ... I thought it would be cool to solicit ideas from this very creative and talented community with regard to what you all would like to have as monthly draw events.

We're looking for potential draw events that would serve a meaningful purpose and make it fun in the process. Post not only your idea, but also how you see it working.

Let's see what this awesome community can come up with!

I like a good solid raffle.
Active members sign the post and are entered into the draw. 1 per person per month.
End of month one name is pulled randomly from hat or somthing and that person wins.

We were doing that with the membership draw, and while we have well over 800 members at this forum, only 35 members posted. I know we have more active members than that, so I'm not sure what the issue is with registering each month in a draw.

Keep the ideas coming tho bcuz we want to do something that will be fun for the community and give everyone an opportunity to win a prize.

* Let ND come up with some 'quest' for the month (i.e. gather some resource/item) then return it to him for some prize (mining package or something of the like)

* Hide one item anywhere on CND. First to stumble upon it gets a prize.

* Hunt on CND, but in teams. Create some cazy/unique team name, global, then post it. Have everyone vote on the best team name.

* Do something crazy on CND. Get a snapshot and everyone vote on it (i.e. airdancing in boxers above the barmaid, sort of the mob chat contest route)

Thats it for now, but again my 2 pretty pecs...

This may be a crazy idea but worth a shot , I was thinking how many people are there that play both on
CND & The islands that arnt aware of the forums and web based external activity relating to PE.

What My Suggestion is is to donate the monthly draw this month in to trying to promote the forums and
web activity surrounding the club this is how I think it should happen ( we may be spending a little more than 1000 ped )

1) Register an event in the event terminal called realityport forums
2) When Registering take all the tickets you can so that there are non for sale from the firtalizer room - highest single loot
3) ND gives all pilots on FL a secret phrase or word
4) ND has Guardians - people with tickets so that these can then be given away to the people giving them the pilot pass word
These Guardians have a CND Guardian uniform - maybe even in a newly created soc so they are easily identified and DO NOT GIVE
TICKETS TO THE USUAL EVENT GANG - Sorry Guys But We know who we are and want to get more poepl on the forums
5) A Half Subsidised flight UP ONLY so it costs 10 ped and the person gets a free ticket to the event and shown by a guardian how to register is offered for
100 participants
6) This then allows new players to come up go in an event all for 10 ped and then could win a prize of 200 ped
7) During the event AN ADDITIONAL prize of 500 ped shopping is given away on this forum by ND the guardians each standing by the teleporter and saying to people
PLEASE SCREENSHOT EACH LOOT as this is 1 Entry to the realityport.com Draw - all screenies to be posted in 24 hours
8) Announcment then made the following evening in the disco & forum at same time as the event was the previose day for the winner to collect there prize
9) ORganise an Afterparty @ VIP where there are 5 spot prizes for people to win you do not need to have been in the event to enter this

The Guardians to be given some free event tickets so they can enter some event or another reward as determined by ND as the winter is comming
then it may be worth trying this for 2 / 3 months and see if the forum usage improoves this way.

I think there should be an out of place item with a 999999999 ped price tag hidden in the shopping mall / out of place item means that say Buzz who mainly has mining
equipment in his shop would have a cuddly soft toy or something in his store and the price set at 9999999 ped - people press
c p and print screen when they have found it and then EMAIL to ND / MS9

has to be email otherwise people would know from screenies where the item is. This also promotes the mall and to get people around there

ND / MS9 then edit the post with the names of the users that have found the item - draw out of hat for these people

Not quite sure if you are asking what we think should be the prize or how you should select winners.

If to select winners, you have all the users in the database.
Can't u just write an app that grabs all user accounts that are active and then randomly selects a winner along the same lines that you did before.

Thia way people do no have to register their name and are automatically an entrant into the draw for being active.

If the winner cannot be contacted, run the draw again until a winner is contactable.


If you want suggestions for prizes, then keep the one you have but add some more as a choice.

For example:

Choice 1 - The shopping spree
Choice 2 - Mining equipment and a day with a top miner to teach them the the correct and incorrect ways of mining.

Choice 3 - Better weapon, fap or armor or all and a day with a top hunter to teach them the proper ways to hunt.

You could add a multiple of prizes for each type of prof obviously those aimed at players that have not reached those good levels.

How's that sound?

Would be good for promoting the use of the forum also, and maybe cross it with ingame peds

Using a kind of currency inforum with an equivalent in peds..

Get a forum store for custumization

And them people use more the forum and the consequence is that more will enter the events

I think there's some confusion here, so let me clarify what I'm asking for.

Think in terms of how we do the monthly global/hof draw event, as well as how we attempted to do the membership draw event.

I'm not asking for anyone to come up with a prize as we have that sorted out, but rather a unique idea where someone would have to put some kind of screenie in a post in order for me to assign a draw number to it. These draws are based on the EuroMillions Lotto numbers and that's the system we're going to continue working with.

It's really quite simple, so all these other ideas about having new stuff at the forum, etc. really doesn't apply to this.

With regard to the monthly membership draw ... we WANTED people to post their ingame names in a thread so that I could assign a draw number to them, bcuz if a member is active at the forum, then they're reading the threads, and it doesn't take but a minute if that to post their names to be eligible.

We want interaction at the forum and this was a good way to do it, as well as a test to see just how much activity there was other than the usual posters. A person can show several posts in the database, but the forum has been active since the beginning of December last year, so that doesn't make them an active member.

If you need further clarification other than this, let me know.

I really like Crazy Space Rabbit's idea of the quest sort of thing ... a hidden item. Goodness knows how many hours it took Rip and I to find a thong in the ambu dome, even with MS9's hints ... if you open it up to the whole of CND, it could take the month to find something. Plus, it gives people things to do when they are bored at CND and low on ped and otherwise standing in the control room. Maybe once a week post a "hint" -- that gets people checking RP on a weekly basis.

Other ideas for something more drawing based:

1)Post a screenshot of your avatar somewhere on CND (date stamped and coordinates) to be enteredin the drawing -- That gets them not only to RP but to CND. This, however, will not help that so few people are participating when we just asked that they post their ingame name...

Maybe make it a specific place each month, to get people to go places they may not have been before - the disco, the mall, apartments, etc.

Or maybe a specific theme -- my favorite shop, my favorite dome, my favorite mob, my favorite plant, my favorite place to chill, etc.


2)Choose an item (e.g. 1 bottle of sweat set at 100,000 ped) in a shop. Randomly draw a shop where the item is placed. People need to go through the mall looking in all the shops for the item, and when they find it, they PM the coordinates (so as to not give it away for everyone else). Everyone who PM's their coordinates is entered in a random drawing. --- This would decrease the # of entries, but give people something to do, and get them looking through all the shops.


3)Go back to the shop purchase idea, but have the shop-owners black out the item and price of the purchase screen and post it like that.

That's all I can think of right now ...
