    I dont anticipate any issues with skills at this stage, initialy ROCKtropioa will utilize only the exisiting EU Skill trees.

    As far as investing in property, there are always risks, but opportunities too..

    I Wouldn't advise investing in Anything until you have a really good feel for the planet and for the way it's being managed.

    Mindark often used the Expression that things are dynamic and for me having some experience with the planet development process, I find it much easier to understand now...

    The Way forward isn't Set in Stone. The Future is not entirely predetermined, certainly things will be going in a particular direction, but things can change if something important doesn't work. we may have to change direction. Or perhaps if something unexpected proves to be successful, then we may gravitate in that direction...

    Certainly the goal is to make ROCKtropia a great planet and there will be a lot of flexibility...

    I would explore many worlds to find the one where u find your niche, when you find it, that's the time to invest in yourself...

    Investing in yourself and your talents is the best bet, if the World can provide a platform for you then you may want to Dig in, i prefer to encourage that approach as opposed to just speculating on the success of new worlds.

    (Although of course that may work for some)

    Thanks for a good reply. It's a sensible and considered approach, and with that approach I reckon your planet has a plus factor in succeeding. As with anything though, there are advantages and disadvantages with each approach. I've mentioned the disadvantage from the players perspective. I'd advise you to be careful not to "piss" them off. They are after all your customers and any business should strive to have happy customers. That may sound simple but sadly not always adhered to, for example look at this:
    DYNAMIC epic fail

    A simple mistake or failure to live up to something can have drastic consequences.


    Anyway I digress from my main point that I wanted to make. You said:

    It would be nice if you shared what your overall directions are (maybe not now but once your planet opens for business).

    If we look at the case of MA they haven't really done that bad a job. Overall they've lived upto some of their aims/directions. Even the one's they didn't live upto would not be that bad if they had comuunicated better with their customers.

    I think that's an important lesson to be learnt there. If you communicate your aims/directions and give insight as to why you may have had to change from those if that does happen, then that is only fair and will lead to a satisfied customer base.

    That would be a good approach. Remember us the players will never be aware of your plans fully and certainly not why you may have done something. Failure to communicate what's essentially going on can lead to some very dissatisfied customers.

    Dynamic is fast becoming the most hated word in EU. Check the above thread in my previous post you'll see what I mean

    As a planet owner I wonder if MA will listen to you, they don't seem to give a hoot about the common player. Basically what I'm saying is how do you know an event you do on your planet is not going to be f**ked up by MA (since you have to rely on their loot mechanism, it stand to logic what happened with SGA could happen to your event). Maybe you can take them to task on that and have them fix what the problem is...


    Also you need to start thinking what other word you can use instead of dynamic if you use that word you may just get a few shoes thrown at you

    I'm curious about fashion... are there new clothing items in the works, including craftable ones? And since we EU vets are already signed into the system, we can't get our hands on the new limited edition pieces that new players get. Will there be a possibility of rewarding everyone who travels to ROCKtropia, maybe a Grand Opening Event for instance? Marco has already said that there may be risks involved in travelling between planets, i.e. piracy for flying or having your nose end up on your forehead for TPers - so a warm welcome would give a sense of accomplishment and incentive all in one.

    Zomhattan is designed to enable Gangs or Soc's to Control parts of the city (land areas), it will be less structured than traditional LG Events and require much more maintainence by the gangs to hold the areas...
