It is always the intent of the CND Management Staff to provide exciting events and contests for the community to participate in with an opportunity to win great prizes.

It is also our intent to provide fair and impartial or unbiased judging based on the merit of an entry into a contest. While the TV Event Fashion Show was reviewed by a panel of judges to determine the winners of 3 categories, we wanted to give the community an opportunity to judge their peers based on quality of entry.

Therefore, we opened up the judging to the community via public poll voting for the Movie-Making Contest, the Vogue Photos Contest, and the Apartment Decorating Contest. We entrusted the community with fairness in their judging and to provide us with clear winners based on merit of entry.

As we all know, not many systems are full-proof, so the CND Management Staff would like to thank Helena and Francine for publicly pointing out the vulnerability of the poll voting system to exploitation by way of vote padding.

As a result, and in all fairness to each contestant, we have made a decision to not utilize the results of the public poll voting, but rather use our best efforts to judge the contests fairly based on the original criteria of merit being the deciding factor in choosing the winners.

Following are the declared winners of each of the 3 contests:

MOVIE-MAKING CONTEST
Led Zeppelin and Francine
Prize: Each is awarded a CND Apartment

We felt that both videos had good content and captured key segments of the fashion show event. Therefore, both Led Zeppelin and Francine will be awarded a CND apartment.

VOGUE PHOTOS CONTEST
Rava
Prize: Awarded a CND Apartment

As a "vogue" photo shoot, the rules indicated that the photos should capture the contestants in all their fashionable glory. Rava focused on the ladies ... and we felt that the overall composition in capturing their waiting moment prior to walking the runway had great merit. The uniformity of body posture and close-up effect clearly highlighted ensembles and gave a colorful flavor to the "Ladies in Waiting" ... and therefore our choice as the winner.

APARTMENT DECORATING CONTEST
Creature - Prize: 500 PED
Zhorgul - Prize: 500 PED
Each receives a 1st Place award.

We felt that both Creature and Zhorgul did an exceptional job in decorating their apartments and it was very challenging to choose just one as the winner. Therefore, we made the decision to make both of them winners.

i m surprised and curious to see the rules changed again but all i can say is congratulations to every participant.

(Its not only this contest...There is something to learn from this for future events of CND to run smoothly...May we have a discussion on another thread about that?)

Trial and error is a good thing Francine ... it allows us to learn ... and it's not a matter of breaking rules Hon, it's all about having flexibility and being smart about what works and what doesn't work.

It's also about giving a level of fairness to those who participate, so trust that we had good reason to revert back to the original criteria for judging these contests. Congratulations again on your video.

I appreciate your thoughts about having a discussion regarding future voting, but what I would like for you to do (and anyone else) is send me a PM with your ideas plz, bcuz for now, we would like to give this voting thing a rest.

We're working on some things "off forum" with regard to future events and contests, and we're also waiting for the new event system to kick in bcuz that will also have an impact on how we do things going forward.

If we feel that having open discussion about future judging will be of benefit to us, then I think that it might be a good thing to engage the community in their thoughts for sure, but let's wait until after the event system is in place.

In the meantime, let's keep the lines of communication open and share good thoughts thru PM. Thanks for your input!

off topic: checked the Wired site yesterday and they still haven't come out with the April issue.

The Wired Magaizne is on the stands. I got a copy , I think they update their site in April

Thats first time i see rules changing AFTER the event, and the worse is thats done after the closing of votes, and ofcourse the only one to get penalized in those change is me!

That just make ur events lost any credibility, u cant choose ur rules and change them like u want coz u dont like the result of YOUR job !!
