BOMBS AWAY! MINING EVENT Postponed
Hi Everyone, congratulations to the CC Cowboys on winning the first round of Bombs away and 10,000 PED...
Congratulations too to LAVF on running a really fun Event.
Congratulations to Warants for Breathing heavily down CC's necks.
Later this month PE's long awaited Event system will be implemented, this will revolutionize player run events.
I am determined to see CND hosting wonderful events with spectacular prizes...
During the last month We have endeavored to run and promote the Speed HoFs, Bombs away and the Quest for the Evil Amp.
While the Quest saw alot of entries, proving that Global draws are the easiest events to promote and manage. The Mining Event and Speed Hof's saw only a few active participants...
This is primarily due in my opinion to the inabilty to properly promote a sporting event with only the Forums as a means to keep people uptodate on the results and the excitement.
The Event system and PE's internal billboard system will provide us with the tools neccesary to promote and maintain the excitement and fully manage the Event within Project Entropia.
Once we have all had a chance to see how the Event system actually works we will decide if we should continue the mining event in it's present form or start a slate of new events from scratch...
In the event that we start Over, CC Cowboys will Recieve a Special Bonus ontop of their 10,000 PED

i think a reason that the Evil Amp quest got more attention is that it offered a better chance to something for players with limited resources.
Don't get me wrong, SpeedHof and Bombs Away (which both had - as it seemed to me - more coverage than the Evil Amp quest) are cool contests, but they (because aiming by design at dedicated players which are able to invest large amounts of time and/or PED on them) are imho not that attractive to casual players, because many of them have an RL environment with keeps them from eg. spending some days continuously in PE.
