The Privacy aspect is certainly fair...
This is an initiative to encourage retail trade inEU, but if its going to be problematic we might have to cancel it.

When I first read the idea, I thought "cool! great way to boost visits to the mall" ... but when I read the logistics of it, the same concerns came to mind for me as Freyr mentioned.
I would not want all of my purchases posted as screenshots for all to see, showing not only what I bought but for how much. And depending on the person and the item, this could actually prevent them from shopping in the mall if they weren't comfortable with that happening.
I think that contacting the purchaser in advance of posting would be entirely too much work for shop owners, who already have a tedious system to deal with in tracking their inventory, and would likely not have the customer on FL to contact them anyway.
Here are a couple of alternate suggestions:
- shop owners black out what the item was and how much it was purchased for on screenshots before posting
- customers post a screenshot of their purchase (a similar purchase window comes up for them, right?)
- customers post a screenshot of them in one of the shops - gets their bodies to the mall, right?
- shop owners provide the screenshots offline so they are not public for the whole world to see
... I think it is an absolutely great idea to do more things like this encourage people to visit the mall, so I would hate to see it cancelled altogether. But respecting the customers' privacy is important.

Yeah, maybe the shop owner can block out the name and price, or the buyer can be the one who posts it and the shop owner confirms.

well we could break this up into two draws
Shopowners posts blacked out Reciepts
&
Shopper Presses C and P and screenshots Green Purchase Message with Item info Window Open
like this

But im concerned this is too complicated and may not be worth the effort?

we might have to just pull this event until further notice

+ rep for Ripper who is spot on in my opinion.
My concerns are:
1. What Freyr said (about privacy)
2. That I will be obligated to log on every day to check if I sold anything. If I do not log on my customers might not get their purchase posted within the 48 hour time limit.
I usually log on every day. I log on because I want to, NOT because I have to. I want it to remain that way.
I support the idea of the customers posting their purchase. The items available in my shop and their prices are available to the public, so there is no privacy issue there.

The community's input regarding this latest monthly draw event is tremendously appreciated; especially with how you've presented your concerns and ideas.
ND and I have discussed the dynamics of this event, as well as all input by community members, and ND has decided that we will put this particular event on hold until such time as we might be able to sort it out in a way that would be beneficial for all.
In the meantime, we are back at the drawing board for some more brainstorming to come up with a new "monthly draw event" that would be fun for the community.
Since we like to create an environment that serves not only the needs but the desires of the community, I thought it would be a good idea to solicit ideas from you with regard to what you might like to see as a monthly draw event.
Therefore, I'm going to create a new thread and open it up for all those creative ideas to be posted. We have always prided ourselves on the talent and creativity of this community, so this might be an opportunity to see what you can come up with.
See ya in the other thread. I'll leave this one open for now in case you have anything further to post about this event that is being put on hold for now.
